January 23, 2007National Automobile Dealers Association Accept the Energy Star ChallengeJanuary 23, 2007: The National Automobile Dealers Association has accepted the Energy Star Challenge. This Challenge calls on building owners across the country to improve the efficiency of their buildings by 10% or more. EPA estimates if auto dealers cut their energy use by 10 percent they would save nearly $193 million and prevent more than 1 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions. The National Automobile Dealers Association represents approximately 20,000 new car and truck dealers holding nearly 43,000 separate franchises, domestic and international.
